How to pray the Chaplet of Saint Gabriel

The Chaplet of Saint Gabriel has a large medal, 3 small beads, a small medal at the “Y” joint, followed by 3 sets of 11 beads, each set being separated by a single bead (2 of them). In total, this Chaplet has 38 beads as follows: Medal + 3, then 11 + 1 + 11 + 1 + 11 = 38.

The 3 sets of 11 beads honour the 33 years of our Saviour’s life. The 2 joining beads honour the Divinity and the humanity of the Lord Jesus.

Begin with the following prayer:

1 st Bead
“Heavenly Father,
through the salutation of the Archangel Gabriel,
may we honour the Incarnation of Your Divine son.”

2 nd Bead
“Mother of our Saviour,
may we strive always to imitate your holy virtues
and to respond to our Father.
‘Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.'”

3 rd Bead
“Archangel Gabriel,
please praise our Father
for the gift of His Son
praying, one day,
by His grace, we may all be one.

On each of the beads in the sets of 11, you say:

“Hail, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee:
Blessed art though among women.
