Prayer for the Family Catholic

Prayer for the Family – 1

O Heavenly Father,I commend my children unto Thee. Be Thou their God and Father;
and mercifully supply whatever is wanting in me through frailty or negligence.
Strengthen them to overcome the corruptions of the world, to resist all solicitations to evil, whether from within or without; and deliver them from the secret snares of the enemy.
Pour Thy grace into their hearts and confirm and multiply in them the gifts of Thy Holy Spirit, that they may daily grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so, faithfully serving Thee here, may come to rejoice in Thy presence hereafter. Amen.

Prayer for the Family – 2

O dear Jesus, I humbly implore You to grant Your special graces to our family.
May our home be the shrine of peace, purity, love, labour and faith.
I beg You, dear Jesus,
to protect and bless all of us,
absent and present,
living and dead.

O Mary,
loving Mother of Jesus,
and our Mother,
pray to Jesus for our family,
for all the families of the world,
to guard the cradle of the newborn,
the schools of the young and their vocations.

Blessed Saint Joseph,
holy guardian of Jesus and Mary,
assist us by your prayers in all the necessities of life.

Ask of Jesus that special grace which He granted to you,
to watch over our home at the pillow of the sick and the dying,
so that with Mary and with you,
heaven may find our family unbroken in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Amen

Prayer for the Family – 3

Heavenly Father,
since the time of the Apostles
you have inspired the Church
to commission certain members
to assist in a special way
in the pastoral mission of Christ.
Bless the deacons
and all other ordained
and non-ordained ministers
that they may be humble
and faith-inspired in their service.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Family – 4

Dear St. Ann, You were truly twice blessed to have our blessed Mother as your daughter and Jesus our Saviour as your grandson. I know that every period
of our lives has its responsibilities as well as its joys.

Today, it seems that grandparents
have either too little use or too much;
Either we are shunted aside
to do nothing,
or we are called upon
to do everything.

Help me to know
Just where my duties lie
In my particular situation
And to carry them out as best I can.

Take care of my family,
My children, and their children.
Inspire them all
To follow your Grandson
And lead truly Christian lives.

Keep all of us
In your loving care,
Never let us turn away from Jesus,
And help us in the end
To receive the joy
Of entering into your Grandsonsďż˝
Glorious presence forever. Amen.

Prayer for the Family – 5

O God of goodness and mercy,
to Thy fatherly guidance we commend our family, our household and all our belongings.
We commit all to Thy love and keeping;
do Thou fill this house with Thy blessings
even as Thou didst fill the holy House of Nazareth with Thy presence.
Keep far from us, above all else,
the blemish of sin,
and do Thou alone reign in our midst by Thy law,
by Thy most holy love
and by the exercise of every Christian virtue.
Let each one of us obey Thee,
love Thee and set himself to follow in his own life Thine
example,
that of Mary, Thy Mother
and our Mother most loving,
and that of Thy blameless guardian, Saint Joseph.

Protect us and our house from all evils and misfortunes,
but grant that we may be ever resigned to Thy divine will
even in the sorrows which it shall please Thee to send us.
Finally give unto all of us the grace to live in perfect
harmony
and in the fullness of love toward our neighbour.
Grant that every one of us may deserve by a holy life
the comfort of Thy holy Sacraments at the hour of death.
O Jesus, bless us and protect us.

O Mary, Mother of grace and of mercy,
defend us against the wicked spirit,
reconcile us with Thy Son,
commit us to His keeping,
that so we may be made worthy of His promises.

Saint Joseph, foster-father of our Saviour,
guardian of His holy Mother,
head of the Holy Family,
intercede for us,
bless us and defend our home at all times.

Saint Michael,
defend us against all the evil cunning of hell.

Saint Gabriel,
make us to understand the holy will of God.

Saint Raphael,
preserve us from all sickness and from every danger to our
lives.

Our holy Guardian Angels,
keep our feet safely on the path of salvation both day and
night.

Our holy Patrons,
pray for us before the throne of God.

Yea, bless this house,
O God the Father,
who hast created us;
O God the Son,
who hast suffered for us upon the holy Cross,
and Thou, O Holy Spirit,
who hast sanctified us in holy Baptism.
May the one God in three Divine Persons preserve our
bodies,
purify our minds,
direct our hearts
and bring us all to everlasting life.

Glory be to the Father,
glory be to the Son,
glory be to the Holy Ghost!

Amen.

Prayer for the Family – 6

To the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Oh most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we come to you as a family and consecrate ourselves to Your Sacred Heart. Protect us through Your Most Precious Blood and keep us pure and holy.
Oh Dear Jesus, we are so far away from Your most pure and Sacred Heart. As a family we need Your help. Heal all the quarrels that exist in our family due to our unforgiveness and lack of love for You. Heal our unbelieving and unconverted hearts and lead us to Your Sacred Heart with love. Unite us as a family and remove all stain of sinfulness from our souls. Help us to be a prayerful and loving family, so that through our example we may lead other souls to Your Most Sacred Heart.
We give You our hearts Dearest Jesus, and consecrate our family through the fourth generation. Through the prayers of our Dearest Mother Mary, may we live this consecration every day of our lives.
Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have pity on us.

Prayer for the Family – 7

Almighty God
We stand before you in supplication,
Asking Your Divine mercy and protection,
To envelop with Your invincible armor,
Our loved ones in all branches of the service.

Give them courage and strength
Against all enemies,
Both spiritual and physical,
And hasten their safe journey,
Back to their homes and families.

If it be Your Holy Will
That they be gathered to Your bosom,
With the eternal vanguard of the saints,
Let their journey to Your everlasting arms
Be swift and painless,
Where they may stand in honour and glory,
Praising You for all eternity.

Amen.
