Dear St. Therese, my Patroness,
in imitation of thy example
teach me to regard all trials and disappointments
as special graces sent by God
to elevate my thoughts and aspirations
above those things that end with time.
Let not the coldness of the world
nor the indifference of creatures embitter me,
but serve only to increase my Love for Jesus,
the One Friend who changes not.
May Love of Jesus inspire every thought,
word and deed of my life,
becoming so wholehearted and intense,
that when earth grows dark and sorrows gather,
all grief will appear as nothing
in the burning Love of my Heart for Him.
